Brandy Harris, born and raised in East Palo Alto, the small city with a massive reputation for drugs and violence, already had the odds stacked against her. Thankfully, with the support of her own Village, Brandy was able to experience what life was like outside of East Palo Alto and as a result, she made the decision to move down South to attend Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama after graduating high school in 1995.
After graduating college in 2001 with her B.S. in Marketing, Brandy worked in the advertising industry for several years before realizing she was not fulfilling her God given purpose. Feeling drawn to work with young people who needed direction, Brandy landed a job at MISSSEY, Inc. where she held a variety of supportive positions for over a period of two years. Soon after, Brandy decided to go back to school to get her Master’s Degree in Social Work. In 2013, Brandy graduated from California State University, East Bay and started her new position as a Social Worker for San Mateo County Children & Family Services. For over nine years, Brandy has worked in the Extended Foster Care unit supporting young adults create stability and structure in their lives and providing them with the skills needed to be successful, independent adults.
As natural empath, Brandy is drawn to supporting those who have challenges with identifying their own needs and navigating how to overcome life’s obstacles. When she was a young girl, Brandy discovered the gift of precognition which was passed down from her ancestors to both her mother and grandmother as well. Because of this gift, Brandy can often tap into the hearts of others through her passion and nurturing demeanor. As a result, Brandy has been able to identify her true calling of giving back to oppressed communities; helping to rebuild each family one household at a time.
Outside of work, Brandy is a single mother of an amazing, intelligent seven year-old son who keeps her on her toes. She enjoys spending time with her close friends and family as they are essential to her own healing. Additionally, Brandy enjoys brunching, traveling and Spa days for self-care, rejuvenation and relaxation.
