Survivor leadership remains the heartbeat of VIP’s work—with peer survivor mentors providing safety planning, crisis navigation, relational coaching, and culturally responsive advocacy. This model fills a critical gap for youth who often feel misunderstood or unheard in traditional systems. Providers regularly note that VIP’s peer support is what “keeps youth engaged” and helps them follow through on goals, appointments, and care plans.
VIP is proud to be the only organization in California implementing FCT with youth impacted by CSEC and child welfare involvement. FCT is an evidence-based trauma treatment model of home-based family therapy focusing on holistic, family derived goals related to family functioning, preservation, permanency, and reunification.
