co-founder, Clinical Director
Meet the superhero with a spirit that never quits: Ranecia Cormier, affectionately known as Reesy.
Since donning her cape in 2008, Reesy has been a beacon of hope in the realm of child welfare and human trafficking. Armed with a Masters in Social Work from California State University and a license in clinical social work, she's not just a hero; she's a real-life wonder woman.
As the Clinical Care Coordinator for Bay Area Community Services, Sycamore, Reesy is the guiding light for countless souls in need. But her journey isn't just about professional accolades—it's deeply personal.
Having walked the path of the child welfare system herself, Reesy knows firsthand the challenges and struggles these young hearts face. It's this empathy that fuels her mission to bring stability and restoration to every child and family she encounters.
For over a decade, Reesy has been a tireless advocate, working tirelessly to rescue and heal youth who have been trafficked and exploited. From group home staff to CWS social worker, she's worn many hats, but her commitment to making a difference has never wavered.
In 2023, Reesy embarked on her most audacious adventure yet: co-founding the Village Is Possible Non-Profit alongside her sister, Dr. Denicia Carlay, LCSW. Together, they're on a mission to spread awareness and healing to the CSEC population through somatic abolitionism and a sankofa approach.
But Reesy's heroism isn't just about fighting battles—it's about spreading joy and laughter wherever she goes. With a smile that could brighten the darkest of days and a laugh that's contagious, she reminds us all that even superheroes need a little fun in their lives.
